In the scorching deserts of Marsk’ka stands the castle of An’alir, a white mirage in a sea of sand. It’s a place of power and mystery, ruled by Princess Elya, a figure both feared and revered. They say she is a deity, superior to all the sacred beasts of these lands. And perhaps she truly is.

Elya rules with detachment, relying on her handmaidens to secure the dark beasts known as aatxe. According to her, these beasts infest the kingdom and are the source of all misery, the cause of the barrenness consuming the lands of Marsk’ka.

Beasts that, according to Elya, must be captured and imprisoned because they are dangerous.
«The aatxe,» Elya says, «deserve no trust. They are infernal beasts, devoid of compassion, devoid of soul.» Yet she always adds: «They must not be killed! Never. Once, they were angels, their purity corrupted. We must capture them, but never take their lives.»

Obedience is a duty; contradicting her is unthinkable. And yet, when she entrusted me with my first mission—to recover the Ancient Aatxe—I discovered a truth I cannot ignore. These aatxe are not empty creatures, nor are they devoid of consciousness. On the contrary.

Looking into their eyes, I saw pain, longing, and a spark of humanity I never would have imagined. More than beasts, they seem like humans trapped in deformed bodies, tormented souls desperately searching for a way out.

Elya claims the corruption poisoning Marsk’ka is the work of the aatxe. But I cannot bring myself to believe her. Because every day, as I watch her, it is she who seems to hold the true corruption—hidden in her honeyed voice, in her eyes that conceal dark secrets.

She tells us handmaidens to stay away from the aatxe, to never get too close. Yet she herself does not follow this rule. Her closeness to them is… ambiguous. Her actions, the way she moves through the castle, her whispered words—everything about her speaks of a perversion beyond comprehension.

If only Queen Reina were to discover what happens in An’alir…
